The Company

Skeiron is an independent power producer and a leading renewable power developer in India. It was launched in 2015 with a vision of providing clean energy using the latest technology and innovations, which contributes significantly towards India’s 175 GW renewable energy target by 2022. Skeiron combines the depth of expertise of the Promoters with one of the most experienced management teams in renewable energy in India. The Company plans to invest in projects earning above market rates of return in states that are highly creditworthy and have the most progressive energy policies. Since its foundation, Skeiron has built a portfolio of over 300 MW of wind capacity operating and under construction and expects to add over 3 GW by 2022.

Power is one of the most critical components of infrastructure crucial for the economic growth and welfare of nations. The existence and development of adequate infrastructure is essential for sustained growth of the Indian economy.  Fossil fuels dominate India’s energy mix, with 71% of total power generated from fossil fuels. High dependence on imported oil and increasingly, imported coal, large peak power and energy deficits, and high energy intensity all pose serious challenges to climate change and India’s energy security. Skeiron’s portfolio of renewable energy projects would contribute to India’s renewable energy mix which would displace energy generation (which is mostly generated in thermal power plants) and also delay any planned expansion of the grid generation by its equivalent size. The Company is expected to generate at least 1.3 million megawatt-hours of electricity annually which will avoid approximately 1 million tons of carbon dioxide annually from 2018 onwards.  To safeguard that the renewable energy projects are developed sustainably, the Company will undertake an Environmental Social Assessment before developing projects to ensure that any potential impacts are identified and adequately mitigated. The development of the projects will create both skilled and unskilled job opportunities in India.
